Cara Install chromeOS - Flex dual boot atau multiple boot, dengan Linux atau Windows Dalam Satu Hard disk atau SSD

 

Cara Instal chromeOS - Flex Dual boot atau Multiple boot Dalam Satu Hardisk atau SSD


Selama ini sudah banyak artikel bahkan video tutorial cara mengintal chrome OS di PC, laptop baik single boot, dual boot maupun multiple boot, namun sedikit sekali bahkan belum ada tutorial cara menginstall chromeOS - flex dual boot atau multiple boot di dalam satu drive.
Mari kita masuk ke inti pembahasan sebagai berikut :

ALAT YANG DIBUTUKAN :
  1. UFD (USB Flash Drive) minimal 16 GB
  2. Koneksi internet yang stabil
  3. Laptop atau PC yang sudah terinstal Linux atau Windows
HARDWARE YANG DIDUKUNG
  1. Prosesor dengan arsitektur x86_64
  2. Komputer dengan UEFI BIOS. LEGACY BIOS TIDAK DIDUKUNG
PERSIAPAN INSTALASI
  1. Download file terbaru  Linuxloops live dari sumber resmi  GitHub, file dalam bentuk format .7z, waktu artikel ini ditulis versi terbaru 20250126, berikut saya sertakan link download
  2. Setalah file linuxloops_live_20250126.7z  selesai terdownload. Extrack file tersebut
  3. Berikutnya kita buat bootable UFD (minimal 16 GB) bisa menggunakan rufus atau balena etcher, flash Linuxloops live ke UFD dan tunggu prosesnya sampai selesai
PROSES INSTALASI
  • Masuk ke BIOS, set perioritas boot ke USB Flash Drive, kemudian save dan restart

  • Jangan lupa untuk mengoneksikan jaringan internet dengan klik ikon wifi di pojok kanan bawah
  • Setelah masuk. Buka aplikasi gparted, buat partisi pada hard disk atau SSD, yang akan digunakan untuk menginstall chromeOS - Flex .
  • Pada kasus ini, saya membuat partisi 50 GB dengan format partisi ext4, dengan nama partisi /dev/sda8 (nama partisi bisa dilihat di aplikasi gparted kolom sebelah kiri)
Aplikasi gparted

  • Selanjutnya buka terminal
  • Ketik perintah

mkdir -p ~/tmpmount 

  •  Lalu

 sudo mount (nama partisi anda) ~/tmpmoumt

  •  Karena nama partisi saya /dev/sda8 maka 

 sudo mount /dev/sda8 ~/tmpmoumt

  •  Selanjutnya buka aplikasi linuxloops installer di pojok kiri atas, tunggu beberapa saat, loadingnya agak lama
  • Selanjutnya pilih chromeOS-Flex
Pilihan distro

  • Pilih stable
  • Pilih image
  • Kemudian atur ukuran yang akan digunakan menginstal image chromeOS-Flex (saya atur ke ukuran maksimal)

  • Selanjutnya pilih lokasi image file di directory yang kita buat: /home/live/tmpmount
  • Kemudian tekan selanjutnya proses ini memakan waktu sangat lama sekali, tergantung kecepatan internet anda mengunduh OS nya, anda bisa tunggu sambil membuat secangkir kopi dulu 🤣
  • Tunggu dengan sabar sampai proses instalasi selesai, 
  • Ketika proses instalasi selesai akan muncul tulisan seperti berikut:
sudo cat /etc/grub.d/40_custom /home/live/tmpmount/ChromeOS-Flex.img.grub.txt | sudo tee /etc/grub.d/99_linuxloops_chromeos-flex; sudo chmod 0755 /etc/grub.d/99_linuxloops_chromeos-flex; sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

  • Copy tulisan tersebut dan simpan sebagai .txt dengan aplikasi text editor, nantinya akan kita perlukan saat menseting boot,
PROSES MEMBUAT BOOT
Karena sebelumnya di laptop saya sudah terpasang Linux Mint dan Windows 10 saya akan membetulkan boot nya dengan bantuan Linux Mint

  • pada Linux Mint buka terminal
  • Ketik perintah
mkdir -p ~/tmpmount 

  • lalu ketik

sudo mount /dev/sda8 ~/tmpmoumt

  • setelah itu buka file .txt yang di simpan tadi dan edit /home/live/tmpmount/ChromeOS-Flex.img.grub.txt
  • rubah live menjadi nama user linux anda, karena nama user saya AI maka /home/AI/tmpmount/ChromeOS-Flex.img.grub.txt
  • selanjutnya copy perintah tersebut ke terminal
sudo cat /etc/grub.d/40_custom /home/AI/tmpmount/ChromeOS-Flex.img.grub.txt | sudo tee /etc/grub.d/99_linuxloops_chromeos-flex; sudo chmod 0755 /etc/grub.d/99_linuxloops_chromeos-flex; sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

  • selanjutnya ketik

sudo update-grub

  • kemudian ketik reboot 
tampilan pilihan boot pada grub


 SELANJUTNYA BAGAIMANA JIKA MEMBUAT BOOT DENGAN WINDOWS

  • Anda bisa mendownload aplikasi grub2win
  • lalu anda dapat menambahakn boot entry baru dengan membuka file ChromeOS-Flex.img.grub.txt file tersebut berada dalam partisi chromeOS - Flex (di laptop saya partisi sda8)
isi partisi chromeOS - Flex (sda8)


  • lalu copy isi file tersebut dan paste di entry boot baru pada aplikasi grub2win
  • Restart
